SDGs Center of Universitas Airlanga Explores Collaborative Opportunities with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)

Malaysia - In a significant step towards advancing sustainable development efforts in the region, a delegation from SDGs Center of Universitas Airlangga visited Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on August 16, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to propose a collaboration between the two institutions, aimed at driving progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.  

Led by Bayu Arie Fianto SE Mba Ph.D., The Head of SDGs Center Universitas Airlangga, the delegation engaged in discussions with USM's senior management and faculty members. The visit aimed to lay the groundwork for a comprehensive collaboration that spans multiple academic disciplines and emphasizes the importance of sustainable development in the modern world, SDGs Center of Universitas Airlangga to USM plans to build collaboration and collaborate in various of faculties, Student mobility activity programs, Multiyear Grant, Specific Summer School SAIL programs, Student and Staff virtual competitions, conferences, and SDGs Festival.

As the two institutions align their efforts to address global challenges and contribute to a more sustainable world, the visit of SDGs Center Universitas Airlangga to USM marks the beginning of an exciting journey towards international collaboration. The partnership is set to empower the next generation of leaders with the skills, knowledge, and determination required to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and create a lasting impact on the global stage.

Both Universitas Airlangga and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) have established themselves as leaders in academia and research, with a strong commitment to advancing the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The visit reinforced the shared values and aspirations of both institutions, paving the way for a deeper collaboration that has the potential to drive significant positive change. The potential collaboration between the SDGs Center and USM holds the promise of not only strengthening their respective initiatives but also contributing to the broader global effort to achieve sustainable development by 2030.
