Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is committed to fostering a healthy, accessible, and sustainable dining environment for all students and staff on campus. Through various dining options, including Airlangga Eatery, faculty canteens, and the Healthy Canteen (MedCafe) at the Faculty of Medicine, UNAIR offers a diverse menu of nutritious meals, including local favorites like beef and chicken steak, tahu campur, and grilled vegetable salads. With prices ranging from IDR 13,000 to IDR 20,000, these meals are designed to be both affordable and healthful, ensuring all campus members have access to quality food.

In recent years, UNAIR has expanded its food services across campuses A, B, C, and student dormitories, making healthy and affordable meals even more accessible. New additions like convenience stores Alfamart, Family Mart, and Roti Boy offer convenient food options for the entire community. UNAIR’s dining facilities prioritize fresh, whole ingredients sourced from local farms and suppliers, boosting the nutritional value of campus meals while supporting the local economy. For example, dishes like grilled vegetable salads offer essential vitamins and fiber, while lean proteins like grilled chicken provide energy and support muscle health.

Healthy Food

In line with Circular Letter No. 849 of 2022, UNAIR has incorporated sustainability into its food services by using environmentally friendly packaging and sourcing ingredients from ethical livestock and aquaculture practices. By partnering with local farmers, UNAIR ensures a steady supply of fresh produce while actively supporting sustainable agriculture and community development.

UNAIR is committed to continuous improvement, regularly gathering feedback from students and staff to adapt its food offerings. As a direct response to community input, the university has introduced more plant-based and low-calorie meal options to meet the demand for diverse dietary preferences. Adjustments in portion sizes based on feedback also provide more affordable, customizable options for those looking for smaller portions.

These initiatives are part of UNAIR’s dedication to advancing Sustainable Development Goals, especially in supporting health, sustainable resource use, and community well-being. By making healthful, affordable food accessible across campus, UNAIR continues to set a standard for sustainability and care for its community
