Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is at the forefront of empowering local farmers and food producers, providing them with access to advanced university facilities, technology, and resources to promote sustainable farming practices. Through specialized support programs and collaborative research initiatives, UNAIR bridges the gap between academic expertise and community needs, enabling local agriculturalists to adopt innovative techniques and improve productivity while reducing environmental impact.

As part of its commitment to sustainable development, UNAIR opens its state-of-the-art laboratories within the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Science and Technology to local farmers and food producers. These laboratories provide invaluable resources for analyzing soil composition, testing water quality, and assessing crop health, ensuring that farmers have access to scientific insights that support sustainable agricultural practices.

Farmers are encouraged to conduct soil and water quality assessments to enhance crop yields and protect natural resources. With the support of UNAIR’s faculty experts, local agriculturalists can better understand their environmental conditions, enabling them to select optimal cultivation techniques and address challenges such as pest control, nutrient deficiencies, and soil erosion.

Advanced Technologies to Enhance Productivity and Sustainability

UNAIR also provides access to innovative farming technologies such as precision farming equipment, drone technology, and sophisticated irrigation systems. Precision farming tools and drone technology allow local farmers to monitor crop health and land conditions from a bird’s-eye view, identifying areas in need of water, nutrients, or pest management. This technology optimizes resource use, reducing waste and enhancing efficiency in farming operations.
