Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) - In 2022, the SDGs Center UNAIR forged a significant partnership with two non-governmental organizations (NGOs): Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI) and Padepokan ASA (ASA). This collaboration aims to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations (UN), with a primary focus on environmental and economic sustainability.

After engaging in a sequence of consultations and sharing valuable insights, the SDGs Center UNAIR, in collaboration with these two NGOs, defined explicit targets that align with the five SDGs:

This collaboration primarily concentrates on providing education regarding climate change, raising awareness about environmental issues among the public, and actively participating in environmental preservation within the campus.
WALHI Indonesia and ASA are organizations with extensive experience and expertise in various environmental and sustainable projects. Through this collaboration, they will play an active role in delivering education to communities on environmental issues, climate change, and the importance of environmental conservation.
Additionally, this collaboration will involve UNAIR students in environmental preservation projects, including tree planting, waste management, and other environmental initiatives.
The partnership between UNAIR, WALHI, and ASA serves as a real-world example of how higher education institutions can work together with non-governmental organizations to achieve sustainable development goals. Through education and raising public awareness, coupled with tangible actions in environmental conservation, it is hoped that this collaboration will have a positive impact on advancing the SDGs in Indonesia.
