UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA - In an extraordinary commitment to equitable education and the advancement of SDG 1 (No Poverty) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is breaking down barriers and ensuring that higher education is accessible to students from all walks of life.

UNAIR is committed to quality education and actively welcoming students from all economic backgrounds, including underprivileged students, 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantages) areas, student with disabilities, and students from eastern regions of Indonesia, with a special focus on Papua.

In line with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNAIR has demonstrated its efforts through the provision of various scholarships based on achievements, scholarships for economically disadvantaged families, scholarships from local governments, internal scholarships, and KIP-Kuliah (Indonesian Smart Indonesian Card for Higher Education) scholarships.

For achievement scholarships, UNAIR collaborates with various banks and companies. Special scholarships from foundations are also offered for less privileged families. Meanwhile, when collaborating with local governments, scholarships are offered from various areas, including outside Surabaya and East Java. Internal scholarships themselves include Quran memorization scholarships and activist scholarships.

There are several types of financial assistance, such as tuition fees (UKT), stipends, training, and development activities, and living expenses. Meanwhile, the duration of the funding is divided into two categories, either applying from the first semester to the final semester or only applying for one to two years (2-4 semsters).

For scholarship requirements, generally, students only need to be active students at UNAIR, have a GPA above 3.00, actively engage in activities, and not currently receive another scholarship. They must also attend the developmental activities provided by the scholarship provider. Specifically, if they are receiving scholarships for economically disadvantaged families, students must attach an SKTM (Proof a low-income status certificate). An ID card or proof of domicile is also required for scholarships from local governments. Meanwhile, for the BI Unggulan scholarship, students can include a minimum TOEFL score of 500 and undergo a specific interview.
