SDGs Center UNAIR - Universitas Airlangga as one of the universities in Indonesia has committed to improve the welfare of the Indonesian, either through education. Many scholarships are offered by various parties in collaboration with Universitas Airlangga to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially on the “No Poverty” goal.

Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) provides one of the scholarships offered to the students in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. It focuses on providing financial aid to underprivileged groups to continue their education.

The financial aid is provided to Bidikmisi Scholarship recipients including tuition fees, monthly living expenses assistance of IDR 700,000, as well as several course programs such as providing thesis writing tips and tricks course, mentoring related to GPA, giving guidance to pass the ELPT (English Language Proficiency Test), and financing the ELPT test.

In addition to assistance for people from the underprivileged, Universitas Airlangga also collaborates with the same body to help people from the 3T (Terdepan, Terluar, dan Tertinggal) include Papua & West Papua regions to continue their education to higher qualifications.

The assistance provided to students receiving the Higher Education Affirmation Scholarship or commonly called ADik is the waiver of tuition fees, living expenses, as well as special tutoring in order to complete higher education thoroughly with good results in universities. The existence of the Bidikmisi and the ADik Scholarship is expected to improve Indonesia's well-being, especially for people from the underprivileged.

SDGs Center UNAIR - Around 1001 students received the Bidikmisi Scholarship, also known as the Indonesia Pintar-Kuliah card Scholarship (KIP-K), at Universitas Airlangga in 2016 (KIP-K). Students who obtained these scholarships got a variety of benefits, including the tuition fee removal from semester 1 through semester 8. Universitas Airlangga set its own goal to increase the quality of graduates from the KIP-K awardees.

Students who receive the KIP-K Scholarship are assigned a study term and a final GPA value by Universitas Airlangga as a goal. Students must complete the program in four years, or eight semesters, with a minimum final GPA of 3.00. Universitas Airlangga also targets that at least 70% of the number of students receiving the KIP-K Scholarship can complete their studies on time. This is evidenced by more than 700 Airlangga University students batch 2016 who were able to complete their studies on time in 2020.

SDGs Center UNAIR - One of the scholarships that are in high demand by students in Indonesia is the scholarship from the LPDP or the Education Fund Management Institute, commonly known as the LPDP Scholarship. The LPDP Scholarship is a scholarship that comes from Anggaran Penerimaan dan Belanja Negara-Pendidikan (APBN-P) which is managed by the Ministry of Finance. LPDP scholarships are given to students with a minimum of D4/S1 graduates who wish to continue their education to a higher level such as a master's or doctoral degree.

Universitas Airlangga is one of the destinations for LPDP Scholarship recipients to continue their studies. In 2020 Universitas Airlangga received 48 students receiving LPDP Scholarships from various types of scholarships such as Bidikmisi Alumni Scholarships, Regional Scholarships, Affirmations, Achievement Pre-Prosperous Scholarships, and others. Some of these scholarships are focused on students who come from underprivileged groups or people with disabilities. And more than half of the students receiving the LPDP Scholarship at Universitas Airlangga are students who come from these under-represented community groups.
