Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is committed to advancing a low-carbon economy by offering comprehensive support for start-ups focused on environmental sustainability. Through the Startup Business Development and Incubation Agency (BPBRIN), UNAIR provides critical resources, mentoring, and networking opportunities to foster innovation in green technology and sustainable business practices.

Dedicated Support for Sustainable Ventures

BPBRIN at UNAIR offers start-ups access to well-equipped innovation labs, co-working spaces, and specialized training programs designed to promote sustainable development. These resources are aimed at helping start-ups develop eco-friendly solutions, reduce carbon footprints, and build business models that align with global carbon reduction targets.

One notable example is the start-up Natry, which works within the palm oil industry to address both economic development and energy issues in Margajaya village. By focusing on efficient resource management and sustainable energy practices, Natry is making strides towards solving regional electricity challenges while supporting local economic growth.

Connecting Entrepreneurs with Investors

To further accelerate the growth of eco-focused ventures, UNAIR organizes initiatives such as the Airlangga Startup Business Matching event. This platform connects entrepreneurs dedicated to environmental sustainability with potential investors and industry leaders, facilitating valuable partnerships that can propel start-ups towards significant impact. Since 2021, BPBRIN has leveraged matching funds to support eco-friendly product development, empowering start-ups that prioritize low-carbon initiatives.
