Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) - UNAIR has implemented a comprehensive waste management system to prevent environmental pollution, including contamination of water sources within the university's premises. This extensive initiative is executed under the coordination of the Waste Management Team.
Waste generated by various faculties, units, and institutions within UNAIR is carefully managed. Each of these entities is responsible for disposing of their waste at designated waste collection points, which are located throughout the campus. In cases where a particular entity lacks the necessary resources or infrastructure, third-party waste management services are engaged to ensure proper disposal, available at each faculty.
The waste generated at UNAIR comes in various forms, categorized based on compounds, physical state, and source. UNAIR has specific procedures for handling each category. Broadly, the waste management process at UNAIR involves the following steps:
