Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) - On May 27th, the Faculty of Science and Technology UNAIR hosted an informative and significant guest lecture on clean water supply. This guest lecture is part of UNAIR's efforts to promote water usage in the campus and the wider community.
Hans Hasselt (MEd.), an expert from Saxion University in the Netherlands and the founder of H2 Knowledge Transfer, served as the keynote speaker for the event. In his lecture titled "From Fresh Water Source to Wastewater Discharge: Learning from Another Part of The World - An Introduction to the Dutch Approach", Hans discussed how the Netherlands effectively manages clean water sources and wastewater.
This guest lecture was held in a hybrid format, with 47 students from the Drinking Water Supply Systems class attending in person at the Faculty Meeting Room on the 2nd floor and others participating online. Additionally, the event was recorded, allowing it to be accessed repeatedly by the broader community to spread the knowledge.

During this lecture, Mr. Hans explained how the Netherlands manages clean water sources and the strategies they employ to address the challenges in clean water supply and wastewater management. Students in attendance gained valuable insight into the significant differences between Indonesia and the Netherlands in clean water supply, including the implementation of these strategies within their respective populations.
This event represent a positive step in UNAIR's efforts to enhance awareness and understanding among students and the community about the conscious water usage. Hopefully, the similar events will continue to be organized and contribute to positive change in how to treat water resources and the environment in the future
