Supporting SDG 17 UNAIR Performs Benchmarking with UNHAS

SDGs Center UNAIR - Universitas Airlangga has participated in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by establishing cooperation with many institutions, especially on SDGs point 17, partnerships for the goals through comparative study. Bayu Arie Fianto, SE, MBA, PhD, Head of SDGs Center UNAIR, said that the comparative study was an informative method and a bridge between the two institutions. The future collaborations could be an implementation of the 17th SDG, partnership for the goals. He stated that many institutions can cooperate with UNAIR to increase activities related to SDGs. "This comparative study with Hasanuddin University becomes the first step in expanding the network of cooperation to increase the impact of SDGs. It is hoped that the comparative study will not only be held with universities in Indonesia but also with those abroad, "he said. Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) is the first institution invited by the SDGs Center UNAIR team to conduct comparative studies. It was held on Thursday, July 29, 2021. The event began with introductions between representatives of each SDG Center and continued with presentations on the SDGs programs of both universities. Both SDGs Centers are consistent in spreading positive impacts to the wider communities through community servie programs related to SDGs.  Drs. Muhammad Yusri Zamhuri, MA, PhD, as the speaker from UNHAS and the head of the UNHAS SDGs Center, revealed that the entire academic communities, including the rector and the active involvement of students, fully support the SDGs program. Mr. Yusri emphasized the need for collaboration and active involvement between educational institutions, stakeholders, governments, and health institutions, especially during the pandemic.
