UNAIR Meraih Penghargaan Peringkat ke-9 Dunia THE Impact 2025

Koordinator Tim Ahli SDGs, A. Safril Mubah, mewakili UNAIR menerima penghargaan THE Impact Ranking ke-9 dunia.

Universitas Airlangga meraih prestasi gemilang dengan menduduki peringkat ke-9 dunia THE Impact 2025. Pencapaian itu juga menempatkan UNAIR pada posisi pertama di Indonesia dan Asia Tenggara serta ke-2 di Asia dalam dampak perguruan tinggi terhadap Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prestasi ini mencerminkan kontribusi signifikan UNAIR pada 17 poin SDGs. Di antara 17 poin tersebut, UNAIR juga mendapatkan pengakuan dunia atas pencapaian peringkat pertama SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), peringkat ke-3 SDG 1 (No Poverty), peringkat ke-4 SDG 5 (Gender Equality), dan peringkat ke-29 SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).

Dalam pernyataan resminya pada 18 Juni 2025, Times Higher Education (THE) memuji UNAIR sebagai institusi paling berkelanjutan dari negara ekonomi berkembang. Pujian itu wajar didapatkan oleh UNAIR mengingat peringkat UNAIR melonjak signifikan dari ke-81 dunia (2024) ke-9 dunia (2025). Atas prestasi tersebut, THE memberikan penghargaan secara langsung kepada UNAIR dalam Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) di Istanbul, Turki, pada 16-19 Juni 2025. A. Safril Mubah, Koordinator Tim Ahli SDGs UNAIR, mewakili UNAIR menerima penghargaan yang diberikan secara langsung oleh Julie Wilkens McMahon, Vice President THE dan Direktur Kawasan Asia Pasifik.

Dalam pertemuan dengan Safril, Julie memandang UNAIR telah menampilkan performa fantastis dalam THE Impact Rankings. “Congratulations to UNAIR for such a wonderful achievement!,” kata Julie. Safril menyambut baik apresiasi tersebut dan mendorong untuk meningkatkan kolaborasi secara berkelanjutan di masa depan. Dia mengungkapkan bahwa UNAIR berhasil meraih peringkat ke-9 dunia berkat kontribusi semua pihak di UNAIR yang saling berkolaborasi secara sinergis untuk memberikan dampak positif signifikan terhadap pencapaian tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan. “Kami mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua sivitas akademika UNAIR yang telah berperan aktif dalam pengajaran, penelitian, dan pengabdian dalam berbagai bidang yang sejalan dengan SDGs. Penghargaan ini merupakan bukti bahwa UNAIR telah menjalankan program yang berdampak luas bagi peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat,” ujar Safril.

THE mengumumkan UNAIR sebagai perguruan tinggi peringkat ke-9 dunia THE Impact Ranking 2025 pada Global Sustainbale Development Congress di Istanbul, 16-19 Juni 2025.

Prestasi UNAIR mencapai peringkat ke-9 THE Impact menempatkan institusi pendidikan Indonesia sebagai aktor penting pencapaian tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan pada tingkat global. Keunggulan UNAIR dalam SDG 6 menggambarkan komitmen Indonesia dalam penyediaan air bersih untuk kebutuhan masyarakat dunia. Melalui pencapaian global ini, UNAIR membuktikan peran strategisnya sebagai perguruan tinggi yang berkontribusi besar dalam penyelesaian aneka permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat.

Universitas Airlangga Gelar Sharing Best Practice SDGs untuk Tingkatkan Kualitas Kegiatan SDGs

UNAIR, 24 SEPTEMBER 2024 - SDGs Center Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) menggelar acara berbagi praktik terbaik yang melibatkan para Wakil Dekan III dan Faculty Ambassador SDGs dari seluruh fakultas. Acara ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan atau Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) serta mendukung pencapaian SDGs di Jawa Timur.

Dalam acara yang berlangsung di ASEEC Tower ini, SDGs Center UNAIR memperkenalkan pedoman SDGs terbaru yang difokuskan pada pengabdian masyarakat. Pedoman ini dirancang untuk memfasilitasi fakultas dalam merancang dan melaksanakan program yang lebih terstruktur dan efektif. Selain itu, SDGs Center juga mengumumkan peluncuran Sustainability Report SDGs yang dijadwalkan pada akhir tahun ini. Laporan ini menyajikan seluruh kegiatan UNAIR yang berhubungan dengan SDGs serta capaian yang telah diraih oleh universitas dalam konteks keberlanjutan.

Setiap fakultas diberikan kesempatan untuk mempresentasikan kegiatan-kegiatan SDGs terbaik mereka. Presentasi ini tidak hanya menyoroti keberhasilan masing-masing fakultas, tetapi juga membuka ruang untuk diskusi yang konstruktif. Para peserta saling memberikan masukan dan berbagi pengalaman dalam upaya mencapai target-target SDGs yang lebih baik.

"Acara ini mejadi momentum penting bagi kita untuk saling belajar dan berkolaborasi. Dengan berbagi praktik terbaik, kita berharap dapat meningkatkan efektivitas program-program yang kita jalankan serta mempercepat pencapaian SDGs di tingkat lokal," ungkap Bayu Arie Fianto, Ketua SDGs Center UNAIR.

Kegiatan SDG 5 UNAIR Jadi Best Practice pada Global Sustainable Development Congress 2024

SDGs CENTER UNAIR – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) telah mencetak prestasi yang membanggakan di kancah internasional.Pada Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2024 yang diselenggarakan oleh THE IMPACT Ranking, program Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 5 UNAIR diakui sebagai contoh best practice terbaik. Program ini merupakan Kumpulan inisiatif yang bertujuan untuk memberdayakan wanita, baik di dalam maupun di luar masyarakat UNAIR.

Prestasi ini tidak datang begitu saja. UNAIR telah melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan yang mendukung pemberdayaan wanita. Salah satu inisiatif unggulan adalah pelatihan gojek khusus wanita, yang membuka pelaung kerja baru bagi wanita di Surabaya dan sekitarnya. Selain itu, UNAIR juga memberikan beasiswa dan subsidi asrama bagi mahasiswa wanita, memastikan akses pendidikan tinggi yang lebih inklusif.

Pelatihan Pada Ojek Online Khusus Wanita

Tak berhenti disitu, UNAIR juga aktif mengadakan pelatihan kepemimpinan yang ditujukan khusus untuk wanita. Program-program ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan kepercayaan diri wanita, mempersiapkan mereka untuk mengambil peran penting dalam masyarakat dan dunia kerja. Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is committed to supporting and empowering female students through dedicated mentoring schemes that enhance their professional and personal development. By providing workshops, seminars, and direct mentoring sessions, UNAIR ensures that its female students have the resources they need to excel in various fields, from renewable energy to healthcare.

In 2023, UNAIR collaborated with Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia’s State Electricity Company, to organize the “Women Empowerment to Accelerate Renewable Energy Development” event. This program aimed to build women's capacity in the electricity sector, an industry where female representation is typically low. Impressively, over 70% of participants were female students. Through sessions on leadership, technical skills, and sector-specific insights, this program empowered participants to envision and pursue careers in renewable energy and electricity management.

Another impactful initiative was UNAIR’s “Improving Maternal Health Along with Satisfaction of Women and Midwifery Students” workshop. This program, aimed at enhancing maternal satisfaction during pregnancy and postpartum, provided hands-on experience to midwifery students, emphasizing sustainable, women-focused healthcare. Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia In a remarkable showcase of commitment to global sustainability, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has held the SDGs Festival 2023 from November 20 to 22 at Garuda Mukti Hall. Organized by the SDGs Center UNAIR, the event brought together 789 participants, predominantly comprising both internal and external students eager to engage in discussions surrounding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Under the theme "Transformative Policy Innovation for a Health and Sustainable Environment," the festival served as a dynamic platform for dialogue and promotion of the 17 SDGs. The event welcomed a diverse audience, showcasing the university's dedication to fostering a holistic approach to global issues.

The highlights of the SDGs Festival were the launch of the UNAIR SDGs Handbook Series and the Grand Final Policy Brief, where participants will present innovative policy recommendations to address urgent global challenges. Apart from that, the Grand Final of the 2023 SDGs Ambassador Competition will deliver innovative programs and voice and carry out movements in advancing SDGs at universities and at the national level.

This festival will also feature extraordinary innovation exhibition booths from the faculty and internal student organizations of Ksatria Airlangga, showing their dedication to No One Left Behind in achieving the SDGs. This exhibition showcases innovative projects and extraordinary initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs at the university and at the national level.

Engaging Panel Discussions is an eminent speaker and expert-led insightful panel discussion addressing various aspects of the SDGs. These sessions provided a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with each goal.

Student-Led Initiatives: A significant portion of the festival was dedicated to student-led initiatives, allowing young minds to showcase innovative projects and ideas aligned with the SDGs. This not only demonstrated the students' passion for sustainable development but also emphasized the role of youth in driving positive change.

Data from 2023 reveal that of 10,134 graduates, an impressive 54% (6,945) were female, showcasing UNAIR's commitment to maintaining gender parity in academic achievements.

The university systematically monitors these rates to assess any disparities, providing a data-driven approach to promote inclusivity. Through careful analysis, UNAIR identifies and addresses potential gender-related gaps in graduation rates, keeping progress on track and setting benchmarks for equality.

To support this commitment, UNAIR’s Directorate of Career Development, Business Incubation, and Alumni (DPKKA) offers tailored resources that prepare both female and male students for career success. DPKKA’s programs include career workshops, mentorship, and specialized skills training. Volunteer of SDGs Center Batch 1 in 2023, Merlina Dewi Khaerun Nisa, a student of English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), has been selected to represent Indonesia at the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) Policy Dialogue and ASEAN Youth Conference in Jakarta.

Merlina, an active volunteer at the SDG Center UNAIR, has been making waves with her commitment to various volunteer programs. Her contributions have earned her the honor of being chosen as one of the delegates from UNAIR to participate in the ASEF Policy Dialogue on November 2, 2023. Following this, she will also be representing her university and country at the ASEAN Youth Conference from November 3 to 5, 2023, in Jakarta.

SDGs Center UNAIR, where Merlina is actively involved, has been a hub for promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various programs and initiatives. Merlina's being selected as a delegate to these events underscores her dedication to not only academic pursuits but also her passion for social responsibility.

The 9th ASEF Regional Conference on Higher Education (ARC9) project's report titled "Asia-Europe Higher Education Mapping: Working Towards the SDGs." (ASEF Policy Dialogue with Youth). in this event discussing the role of universities in supporting SDGs, Who is most involved, and who is in charge of achieving the SDGs? What is the role of students and civil society organizations? What is the key challenge?

Merlina said, "Well, from the idea that I conveyed after discussions with several other friends regarding the recommendation that We recommend the Ministers of Education allocate an earmarked budget for youth and student initiatives regarding sustainable development in higher education, insofar as such budgets are not yet implemented,"

"For sustainable development to take root in sufficient higher education institutions, it is important to allocate the budget to this objective. To get buy-in from the youth and encourage their contribution to sustainable development, it is essential to provide a budget. This recommendation is based on funding being one of the main problems in achieving the SDGs in both Asia and Europe," Merlina added. The output from ASEF is in the form of policy recommendations addressed to the ministry of education, which will be presented at the 9th ASEM Education Event Ministerial Meeting (ASEMME9) in January 2024.

The ASEAN Youth Conference discusses the role and actions of young leaders in creating a positive change in the problems that exist in ASEAN. AYC 2023 carries the theme "Guardians of the Sustainable Future for a Resilient ASEAN." In this event, delegates exchanged ideas and took part in voicing ideas and opinions in various fields of society, which were then implemented through real action in the form of international projects as a form of real contribution by youth in implementing the agenda of peace, stability, solidarity, unity, prosperity, and sustainability. in ASEAN.

Issues in the fields of economy, education, health, and gender have caused the development of human resource capacity in Indonesia to be uneven. Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) are the issues that needs attention to provide access to a decent life for women and marginalized groups. In a remarkable stride towards gender equality in higher education, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to empowering women through its admissions rates. The university's proactive approach to tracking female applicants has resulted in an impressive 72%. 11,556 new enrollees and female representation 7,557 in 2023.

UNAIR's commitment to gender equality is not merely a statement but a tangible reality reflected in its admission statistics. The university has actively tracked and fostered a supportive environment for female applicants, ensuring that the academic landscape is inclusive and representative of diverse perspectives.

Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has consistently demonstrated its commitment to gender equality through its student acceptance, with a significant upward trend in female enrollment. In 2020, out of a total of 5,848 new enrollees, 4,020 were female students. The following year, in 2021, the university continued its drive for inclusivity, with 4,360 female students among the 6,636 new enrollees. Most notably, in 2022, UNAIR celebrated a remarkable achievement in empowering women in higher education, with a substantial 6,682 female students out of the total 9,247 new enrollees, in 2023 our female acceptance rate is 65% of the 11,556 new enrollees marking a notable stride towards gender equality and fostering an inclusive academic environment.

The university's proactive measures to track and support female applicants have been seen in the female-dominated environment over the last three years. It emphasizes that admission decisions at the university are based solely on merit. This commitment to a transparent and non-discriminatory admission process reinforces UNAIR's dedication to providing equal opportunities to all, fostering an environment where every individual can thrive.
