Professor Bohbot’s Visit Sparks Collaboration for SDG

In a bid to support the Sustainable Development Goal 17 Partnership for the Goals, Professor Zeev Bohbot from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden visited the SDGs Center UNAIR on the 8th day of May 2023. The visit was part of the 2023 academic collaboration which started with a Guest Lecture, Research Collaboration on clean water in the rural area of Madura, and this week will have another guest lecture. This is a collaborative effort to strengthen the partnership between the academic community in achieving the SDGs.

During the visit, Professor Bohbot emphasized the importance of partnership and collaboration between stakeholders, including academia, government, and civil society organizations. While discussing the various initiatives that KTH Royal Institute of Technology has undertaken to support the SDGs, including research, education, and outreach programs, he particularly highlighted the institute's efforts to support the SDGs in UNAIR, including sending their students to study and conduct research at UNAIR.

The Secretary of the SDGs Center, Mr. Hakim, attended the meeting with other distinguished staff members representing UNAIR and the SDGs Center. Mr. Hakim, on behalf of UNAIR, expressed their appreciation for Professor Bohbot's visit and his willingness to share his expertise and experience. The Head of the SDGs Center also disclosed their concurrence and commitment to work together with the institute toward achieving the SDGs and ensuring a sustainable future for all.

"We are glad to see the direction of this collaboration, we have to plan for the opportunities for collaboration and work together in the near future," said Mr. Hakim representing the Head of SDGs Center.

The visit by Professor Bohbot is expected to further strengthen the partnership between KTH Royal Institute of Technology and UNAIR to help bridge the gap between research and policy. It is hoped that such collaborations will lead to innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges and create a better future for all.
