"SDG 1 is a university effort to reduce poverty aimed at the general public and the academic community in the internal campus environment, such as students. Universities can help reduce the problem of poverty through policies and activities carried out. In this case, universities can provide quality education and training to the lower middle class to reduce poverty and provide financial assistance to students."

Urgensi Digitalisasi Data Kemiskinan Kabupaten Tuban
Data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kabupaten Tuban tahun 2016 merilis jumlah penduduk miskin mencapai 198.350 jiwa atau setara dengan 17,14%. Angka ini menempatkan Kabupaten Tuban berada pada urutan 31 dari 38 kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Timur.

Direktur Pendidikan UNAIR Prof. Dr. Sukardiman, Apt., MS mengungkapkan, Pada periode wisuda Maret 2021 kemarin, lanjutnya, ada tiga penerima KIP yang didapuk sebagai Wisudawan Terbaik. Salah satu di antaranya bahkan berasal dari Fakultas Kedokteran dengan raihan IPK hampir sempurna, yaitu 3,94.

Accommodation Unit
Dormitories are provided for students of Universitas Airlangga. There are two dormitories, one for men and one for women, located in Campus C Universitas Airlangga. There are a lot of facilities, such as internet connection, canteen, cafeteria, multi-utility hall and laundry. The rent for a year Rp 1.7 million. As they are located in the campus area, students can focus in their studies well and also develop their academic and interest or talents they have.
Student Executive Board (BEM) and UNAIR Puspas distribute staple food to students
The Student Executive Board and UNAIR Puspas have worked together distributing logistics for students who live far from their hometown and stay in Surabaya. The staple food packages are for UNAIR students who need help. The criteria of the student they supported are the ones who live far from their hometown and whose parent has low income.

Universitas Airlangga provides Financial Aid for the Underprivileged
Universitas Airlangga as one of the universities in Indonesia has committed to improve the welfare of the Indonesian, either through education. Many scholarships are offered by various parties in collaboration with Universitas Airlangga to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially on the “No Poverty” goal.
Most of Bidikmisi UNAIR Students Graduate on Time
Around 1001 students received the Bidikmisi Scholarship, also known as the KIP-K, at Universitas Airlangga in 2016. Students who obtained these scholarships got a variety of benefits, including the tuition fee removal from semester 1 through semester 8. Universitas Airlangga set its own goal to increase the quality of graduates from the KIP-K awardees.
UNAIR Commitment for Continuing Education
In 2020 Universitas Airlangga received 48 students receiving LPDP Scholarships from various types of scholarships such as Bidikmisi Alumni Scholarships, Regional Scholarships, Affirmations, Achievement Pre-Prosperous Scholarships, and others.

AUBMO Encourages Bidikmisi Students to be Entrepreneurs During Pandemic Through Creative Business
Universitas Airlangga Bidikmisi Organization’s (AUBMO) Ministry of Entrepreneurship took an initiative to organize Creative Business activities. According to the Chief Executive, Uut Permata Sari, the goal of the talk show was to inspire and motivate Bidikmisi students to start a business during a pandemic.
