Surabaya, 3 Januari 2024 - Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) menerima kunjungan dari Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) untuk menjalankan agenda studi banding yang lebih luas, tidak hanya terkait pemeringkatan, tetapi juga fokus pada pembelajaran tentang Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Center.

Dalam sambutannya, Prof. Muhammad Miftahussurur, Wakil Rektor UNAIR Bidang Internasionalisasi, Digitalisasi, & Informasi, berbagi pengalaman terkait pembentukan SDGs Center di UNAIR. "Kami mendirikan SDGs Center pada awal tahun 2022 sebagai respons terhadap Sustainable Development Goals yang semakin relevan," ungkap Prof. Miftahussurur. Prof. Miftahussurur menjelaskan keterkaitan penelitian dengan SDGs, menekankan bahwa penelitian harus mendukung tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Dalam hal ini, UNAIR telah mengintegrasikan SDGs ke dalam mata kuliah dan mengelola SDGs Center secara internal.

Belajar dari pengalaman UNAIR, UMS mencatat beberapa langkah yang dapat diambil dalam proses pembentukan SDGs Center, termasuk melakukan benchmarking, melibatkan fakultas dalam pengembangan program terkait SDGs, dan mengelola pusat tersebut dengan fokus internal terlebih dahulu.

Diskusi pun berfokus pada implementasi SDGs dalam penelitian. Bapak Bayu Arie Fianto, S.E., MBA.,Ph.D., Ketua SDGs Center UNAIR, memberikan wawasan mengenai best practices yang dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi UMS yang sedang berproses membangun SDGs Center

Beliau juga menyoroti pentingnya kolaborasi dengan institusi pendidikan lain, mengundang tim ahli SDGs dan Jajaran Unit kerja lainnya yang bersangkutan, dan merancang kegiatan kolaboratif seperti festival berbasis SDGs untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterlibatan seluruh komunitas kampus. 

Dalam sesi tanya jawab, Ketua SDGs UMS menyampaikan pertanyaan khusus terkait pembelajaran tentang SDGs Center. Ketua SDGs Center UNAIR Bapak Bayu memberikan informasi terperinci mengenai struktur organisasi, kegiatan yang dilakukan SDGs Center UNAIR, dan upaya kolaboratif yang dijalankan untuk mendukung implementasi SDGs.

Pertukaran pengalaman antara UNAIR dan UMS diharapkan dapat memperkaya proses pembangunan SDGs Center di UMS dan membuka peluang untuk kerja sama lebih lanjut dalam mencapai tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan.

SDGs Center NEWS – In a significant cross-cultural initiative, more than twenty experts and scholars spanning diverse fields from 9 Asian countries are set to convene for specialized discussions on impact measurement, management, and sustainable leadership. The forum, hosted by National Central University (NCU) in Taiwan, aims to foster collaborative efforts in addressing pressing global challenges through informed and strategic approaches.

Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has received a distinctive invitation from NCU to participate in the SDGs Impact Week from December 11th to 16th 2023. UNAIR entrusted with sharing insights into its best practices related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNAIR acknowledged for its steadfast commitment to sustainability, will shed light on how it seamlessly integrates the SDGs framework into its academic, research, and community service initiatives.

Taiwan SDGs Impact week 3

Representing of UNAIR at this pivotal event is the SDGs Center delegation, led by Bayu Arie Fianto, S.E., MBA., Ph.D, who serves as the Head of the SDGs Center, and Savira Rizma Yunita, S.M as an Internal Coordinator of the SDGs Center. The presence of these representatives’ underscores UNAIR's dedication to advancing sustainable practices and making meaningful contributions to society through the university's impactful initiatives.

The delegation was invited to participate in a workshop and assume prominent roles as speakers at an International Conference on Sustainability Leadership and Impact Management. The invitation serves as a recognition of the university's academic excellence and contributions to the field. UNAIR’s sees this participation as a significant step towards enhancing its international reputation and expanding its academic network.

Empowering Women in STEM: UNAIR and ASIA University Launch Online Courses for Under-represented Individuals: As part of their commitment to addressing gender disparities in STEM fields, UNAIR and Asia University Taiwan are set to launch an online course targeting women underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. This innovative course aims to provide tailored support and educational opportunities, fostering inclusivity and diversity in traditionally male-dominated fields.

Prioritizing Mental Health on a Global Scale: SAIL Program Enhances Student Mobility and Mental Health Awareness: UNAIR and Asia University Taiwan take a bold step in supporting SDG 17 by integrating mental health awareness into the Student Academic International Learning (SAIL) Program. Through a dedicated "Mental Health Week," students engage in cross-cultural activities, promoting well-being and fostering a collaborative approach to global challenges.

Community Development Grant Champions Gender Equality UNAIR and ASIA University's Joint Effort Towards SDG 5: In alignment with SDG 5: Gender Equality, UNAIR and Asia University Taiwan are launching a community development grant. This grant specifically targets the empowerment of women in subjects where they are underrepresented. By encouraging applications from women in various fields, the initiative aims to contribute to the broader goal of achieving gender equality and fostering a more inclusive academic environment.

Global Expertise: Prof. Chang Joins as Policy Brief Judge: In a testament to the collaborative spirit, SDGs Center UNAIR is honored to announce the participation of Professor Chang, a distinguished academic from ASIA University Taiwan, as a judge for a policy brief competition at SDGs Festival 2023. This competition serves as a platform for students to propose innovative solutions addressing pressing global challenges.
